Corban Track & Field Wraps Up Indoor Regular Season at George Fox Indoor Two

NEWBERG, Ore. The Corban University Men's and Women's Track & Field programs concluded their regular season for indoor competition earlier today at the George Fox Indoor Two meet, hosted by NCAA DIII George Fox University, where the Warriors in action punched in six personal records and a pair of season best marks among a substantial assembly of collegiate opposition.

"We had a good day at the GFU Indoor #2 meet," explained Warriors' head coach Todd Bos earlier this evening. "Plenty of PRs and high placing for our Corban student-athletes. We are looking forward to a great start to the outdoor season next week, and we are thankful to God for these opportunities to compete and see the good fruits of our labor."

Five of the six personal bests completed today were by Warriors within the men's program, with sophomore sprinter Benjamin Krebs and freshman hurdler Aaden Ackley both submitting new PRs in the prelims of the 60m dash and 60m hurdles, respectively, before breaking those short-lived personal bests in their final heats once again. Krebs placed fourth with a new 7.09 personal record, while Ackley placed third and broke nine seconds in the 60m hurdles with an 8.89. Joining Krebs in the 60m dash prelim PRs was senior jumper Will Maupin who was timed at 7.46 overall, while sophomore David McCormick was a 60m hurdler personal record breaker with a 9.40 final time.

In the throwing events, sophomore Aden Dardis was the lone Navy and Gold hurler to set a new personal best mark, as his 12.36m throw in the men's weight throw placed fifth overall out of an eleven-man field.

Corban star high jumper and NAIA qualifier, redshirt junior Kayla Morgan, stood above the competition once again today with a season-best 1.70m leap to win the women's high jump in a field of NCAA DIII competition and a lone Raider from fellow conference member Southern Oregon University. The mark is now the 12th best in the NAIA this indoor season ahead of the national championship meet next week in Florida.

Sophomore Kirsten Kuenzi secured a new PR in the women's 60m dash preliminary race of 7.98 to secure a spot in the finals, where she placed fourth out of a nearly 50-woman event. She also completed a new season-best jump in the women's long jump of 5.18m, good enough for her second fourth-place finish of the day.

For Morgan and sophomore Braydon Lee, the duo will head to the 2025 NAIA National Indoor Track & Field Championships next week in Gainesville, Florida, while the remainder of the Corban track & field programs will prepare for their first outdoor meet of 2025 represented by the Willamette Opener on Saturday, March 1st.
