SALEM, Ore. – A fresh group of student-athletes has officially joined the Corban University softball program for the upcoming 2025 season, as announced by head coach Jeff Covalt. This marks Coach Covalt's first official recruiting class as the program's leader, which includes six transfers and five true freshmen from five different states. These additions are set to strengthen the roster and provide depth in every aspect of the game.
"Myself and our staff are very excited to see what this group will accomplish this season," began when asked to discuss the 2025 recruiting class. "As a whole, they've all overperformed expectations and all have had some special moments thus far. We are really excited to put it all together and see what we can do this season and in conference play. We've worked really hard as a team and can't wait to get games started this week."

Kassandra Douglas | 5-4 | Catcher | Junior | Forest Grove, Ore. | Banks HS | Chemeketa CC
Transferring with two years of eligibility, Douglas joins the Warriors as the most experienced catcher in her recruiting class. She received Second Team All-Region honors as a catcher last season and was a two-year president's list student athlete at Chemeketa. In high school, Douglas was a two-time All-League catcher. She also received All-League and All-State honors in wrestling her junior year.
Douglas enters the Hoff School of Business with a concentration on leadership and management.
Destinee Estrada | 5-1 | Catcher | Freshman | Victorville, Calif. | Oak Hills HS
Estrada begins her first collegiate softball season with the Navy and Gold after an incredible high school career. At Oaks Hill, she ended with a batting average of .468 and ended in the top 10 in the Mojave River League. Estrada led her team to two league championships and was named player of the game two times.
With plans of becoming a veterinarian, Estrada will complete a biomedical science degree.
Peyton Foreman | 5-6 | First Baseman | Junior | Monmouth, Ore. | Central HS | Mt. Hood CC
Coming off a championship-winning season at Mt. Hood, Foreman unites with Corban softball with the potential to make a significant impact this spring season. Foreman received Second Team Southern Region honors, an NWAC hitter of the week award, and made the dean's list at Mt. Hood. In high school, she was a two-time First Team All-Conference catcher and a two-time All-State catcher, receiving both a First Team and a Second Team distinction. During her final season, Foreman secured 10 homeruns and was named Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year. She played both varsity softball and varsity basketball while in high school.
Foreman joins the education program with dreams of being a physical education teacher.
Hannah Griffith | 5-4 | Infielder | Freshman | Brush Prairie, Wash. | Portland Christian HS
Griffith is added to the Warrior roster with four years of collegiate eligibility. In high school, she was a three-time First Team All-League softball player and received an honorable mention award for volleyball. She played three years of varsity softball and volleyball.
Griffith aims to get a degree in biokinetics to one day become a physical therapist.
Mckenna Hanson | 5-7 | Infielder/Catcher | Freshman | Polson, Mont. | Polson HS
After a storybook high school career, Hanson joins the Navy and Gold for her first collegiate softball season. She was a four-time First Team All-Conference and First Team All-State athlete, earning the third most home runs in school history. Hanson received Academic All-State all four years as a three-sport athlete including softball, basketball, and volleyball. In her senior year at Polson, she was awarded Female Athlete of the Year.
Hanson is pursuing a kinesiology degree with intentions of becoming a physical therapist.
Belle Mercier | 5-3 | Utility | Redshirt Sophomore | St. Helens, Ore. | St. Helens HS | Dakota College at Bottineau
Mercier enters the Corban roster with three years of collegiate eligibility after two years at Dakota College. At St. Helens, she was a three-sport athlete featuring four years of softball, basketball, and soccer on her resume.
Mercier joins the psychology program at Corban to attain a degree in counseling psychology.
Regan McDaniel | 5-3 | Outfielder/Pitcher | Junior | Mountain Home, Idaho | Mountain Home HS | Walla Walla CC
Transferring into the NAIA, McDaniel unites with the Warriors with two years of collegiate eligibility. In her most recent NWAC season, she secured a .340 batting average, with seven home runs, and 43 RBIs. McDaniel was a First Team All-Conference pitcher her junior year, First Team All-State, as well as Pitcher of the Year her senior season.
McDaniel will continue studying health sciences while playing softball at Corban.
Regan Rasmussen | 5-7 | Pitcher/Infielder | Freshman | Salem, Ore. | Blanchet HS
As Blanchet Female Athlete of the Year, Rasmussen joins the Navy and Gold for her first collegiate softball season. Her high school accolades include: First Team All-Conference as an infielder in 2022, two-time First Team All-Conference as a pitcher in 2023 and 2024, and Co-Player of the Year in 2024. Rasmussen received three All-State honors as an infielder and pitcher as well. She also kept a batting average of .549 and pitched 228 strikeouts in 127 innings.
Rasmussen is pursuing a degree in health science to become an ultrasound technician.
Miranda Scovil | 5-8 | Pitcher/Infielder | Freshman | Albany, Ore. | Santiam Christian HS
Scovil connects with the Corban roster with an impressive high school resume. In her high school career, she secured a .512 batting average, a .592 on base percentage, and 256 strikeouts (100 strikeouts just in the 2024 season). Scovil received First Team All-League and Third Team All-State honors as a pitcher her sophomore year, and was awarded two more Second Team All-League titles the subsequent years. During her four years of softball, Scovil was a member of the Santiam Christian volleyball team for three seasons and the wrestling team for one.
With plans to become a math teacher, Scovil will fulfill the requirements for an education degree while playing softball.
Leata Senio | 5-5 | Infielder | Junior | Kuna, Idaho | Kuna HS | Walla Walla CC
Senio enters the Warriors' program after two seasons of collegiate softball. She spent a year at North Idaho College and a year at Walla Walla CC. In high school, Senio played all four seasons of softball. She is one of six infielders in her recruiting class that will bring depth to the Corban roster.
Senio will continue studying for a degree in kinesiology during her time at Corban.
Pressley Staudenmaier | 5-4 | Infielder | Junior | Happy Valley, Ore. | Clackamas HS | Clark College
Staudenmaier joins the Navy and Gold with two years of collegiate softball eligibility. Prior to her two seasons at Clark College, she competed all four years of high school softball. Additionally, she was the team captain her senior year.
Staudenmaier is pursuing a degree in criminal justice while playing softball at Corban
