"Our small contingent of runners performed well today and we continue to see the fruits of our labor," Corban head coach Todd Bos shared earlier today. "We're looking forward to heading to Spokane next week and seeing if we can continue to improve. Praise the Lord for a great weekend of competition."
The Warrior long distance crew took center stage today with a pair of personal best marks, starting with junior Zander Moha in the men's 800m race with a career-best 2:00.31 and finished in seventh of 22 runners. The only other student-athlete on the men's side to achieve a significant mark when compared to their previous outings was senior Forrest Cooley in the men's one-mile race, where he placed 30th overall with a 4:35.40 time for a season-best mark.
On the women's side, true freshmen Carrie Babcock and Haley Kline set new personal best times in the one-mile and 400m races, respectively, with Babcock (5:28.04) finishing one one-hundreth of a second ahead of sophomore Shaelee Killorn for 13th and 14th finishes out of a nearly 40-woman race. For Kline, she concluded the women's 400m race as the highest NAIA placer in PDX with a time of 1:06.84.
Beginning next Friday, the Warriors will travel to Spokane, Washington for a two-day indoor meet at The Podium, an Olympic training facility that will host the Whitworth Invitational where NCAA DIII Whitworth University will serve as the host institution.
