The CSC Academic All-America program is nominated and voted on by members of the CSC, which are the Sports Information Directors/Athletic Communication leaders from every NAIA institution. Each school's nominees must have met the following criteria to be eligible for the award: at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically; have maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA; have participated in at least 90% or started in 66% of the team's scheduled counting contests for the regular season. For men's and women's basketball specifically, a maximum of four student-athletes may be submitted for consideration from each team.

For the second-straight season, the Warrior women's basketball program reached the maximum amount of award winners for the All-District award, with four of their key starters/reserves off the bench being honored by the CSC organization. Those included in this year's list of award winners in order of academic class are graduate student Gemma LaVergne, senior Alyssa Wyllie, junior Mandie Jensen, and junior Lizzy Bennett.

"I'm so proud of what Gemma, LoLo, Mandie, and Lizzy have been able to accomplish in the classroom and on the court," Warriors' women's head coach Kylie Frizell shared when she learned of the most recent academic awards earned by members of her program. "One of our core values is tenacity, and that means we pursue excellence in all things - on the court, in the classroom, and in everyday life. This recognition shows their hard work in all aspects of life."

On the men's side, an upperclassmen duo represented the Corban basketball program in the academic limelight, as graduate student RJ Veliz and senior Nikola Milosevic completed their collegiate basketball careers with one of the highest educational honors presented within the NAIA and greater collegiate scope.

"RJ is extremely meticulous, organized, and attacks everything he sets his mind too," Corban men's head coach Taylor Kelly stated regarding Veliz. "He set the tone for us in so many areas all year long, and this is just another example of him setting the tone in the classroom. Super proud of the work he has put in and he is well-deserving of this honor."

Coach Kelly carried on with his second award winner in Milosevic by sharing, "Nikola is a guy who prepares as hard as anyone to make sure he is able to display what he's capable of. This extends to every area of his life! For him to be acknowledged for the work he has put in the classroom is well-deserved."

An NAIA-based selection committee will determine which of the All-District recipients will advance to the Academic All-American Voting Round, which will be conducted over the next week across the nation. Nominees will be sorted into groupings passed on position they play on the court and will be considered for the studious All-American status with both athletic and academic success being considered.
