Warrior Beach Volleyball Remains at Second Nationally in NAIA Top 10 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the second of five NAIA Beach Volleyball Regular Season Coaches' Top 10 polls for the 2025 spring season earlier this morning, where the Corban University Beach Volleyball program remained within the top two placements in the entire country entering their home conference tournament this upcoming weekend.

"We appreciate the second-overall national ranking, and we fully realize the target that puts on us," Corban head coach Dan Stephens deduced earlier this afternoon when he learned of the most recent rankings. "Our student-athletes are fully aware of the battle facing us this weekend, and that our opponents will compete at their best in an attempt to knock us out of our ranking within the conference and the nation. We will work on being our best every on touch of the ball and see where that lands us moving forward."

The Navy and Gold kicked off their 2025 regular season by defending their No. 2-overall ranking with a 4-1 record, including a pair of NCAA DI takedowns and two more dominant victories to start conference play down in Eugene. The Warriors secured 3-2 and 4-1 dual victories over the University of Portland and Sacramento State University in the 2025 Corban Invitational before cruising to a 4-1 win over No. 10-ranked College of Idaho and a clean 5-0 sweep over Northwest University just last weekend.

This isn't the first national recognition the program has received this week, as the squad's fourth-overall pairing represented by junior Alexis Adebodun and freshman Gabi Engels improved upon their Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Pair of the Week award with an NAIA National Pair of the Week honor just yesterday as announced by the national office. The duo represented one of four pairs to go undefeated at the Bushnell Tournament and allowed just 44 points in four sets played to their conference opponents.

This upcoming weekend, the Warriors are scheduled to host their own CCC tournament with six duals scheduled between 12pm on Friday, March 7th and 2pm on Saturday. Of the six duals, Corban beach volleyball will be playing in three of them, including a 2pm bout with Simpson University (0-0, 0-0) followed by a pair of Top 10 matchups with No. 7-ranked Southern Oregon University (2-4, 0-0) on Friday at 4pm and Saturday at 12pm.
