"A good day at a big meet for the throwers and distance runners," detailed Corban head coach Todd Bos. "We'll have one last regular season competition tomorrow at two separate meets as some student-athletes tie a bow on their seasons while others look to move up the conference qualifying lists."
To conclude the day's competition for the Warriors, sophomore Braydon Lee broke his own school record in the men's 1,500m race by over a second with a new 3:52.40 PR, as he placed eighth overall and was the top NAIA finisher out of the 15-man heat and came 0.4 seconds from qualifying for the NAIA National Championships.
On the women's side of the 1,500m, sophomore Shaelee Killorn nabbed a personal best at 4:48.33 to qualify for the conference championships next weekend. The third and final personal best mark of the day came in the men's hammer throw for true freshman Caleb Jannsen who hurled the weight 44.19m, or just under 145 feet.
A handful of Warriors will finish competition at the Whyte Track and Field Center in Corvallis, while the remaining student-athletes will journey north to the Linfield Open, hosted by NCAA DIII Linfield University, as the programs hold one final opportunity to qualify as many team members as they can for the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships slated to begin on May 9th in Ashland.
