An unscathed 5-0 record for Garcia netted the Salem native a second-straight CCC weekly honor, as he went toe-to-toe with some of the best competition the NAIA has to offer at the NWCA National Duals and rose to the occasion on each opportunity. Overall, he picked up a pair of top 20 victories among his four-straight decisions to begin the national event, finishing the weekend with a first round pin over Ethan Heady of No. 7-ranked Campbellsville University.
In the first matchup of the central United States tourney for Corban men's wrestling program against No. 2-ranked Life University, Garcia was matched up with the grappler ranked just below him in the 285-weight class, No. 3-ranked Gabriel Jacobs of the Running Eagles. After falling behind in the first round, Garcia rallied to score a takedown and tie the match in the third round, eventually forcing overtime in a sudden victory format. At the 1:05 mark in the first overtime, Garcia scored another takedown to flip the top four matchup in his favor. The only other ranked bout for Garcia came in Corban's dual with No. 11-ranked Doane University, where he scored another third period takedown with 24 seconds remaining to pick up the victory and improve to 15-1 on the year.
Garcia will lead the No. 18 Warriors into their first CCC dual of the 2026 calendar year this upcoming Thursday, January 15th as they're scheduled to visit RV Eastern Oregon University (4-4) at 5:30pm.
