Record Breaking Jumps Earn Reis First CCC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week Honor of 2026 Season

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the McDonald's CCC Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for the competitions held between January 12th to 18th, where the Corban University Men's Track & Field team saw one of their recent additions immediately capture the national eye with a pair of sensational performances last weekend at the UW Preview in Seattle, Washington. Sophomore Oliver Reis hit a national qualifying mark in both the men's triple jump and long jump, setting a pair of records and gaining national attention in his first week of competition.

"We're happy to see Oliver win this award," explained Corban head coach Todd Bos when he learned of Reis' most recent accomplishment. "He definitely burst onto the scene with his performance. Lord willing, we continue to see big things from Oliver this year. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the contributions that our jumps coach, Kelly Holding, has made in Oliver's success."

After having previously competed at the NWAC level with Mt. Hood Community College, Reis made his mark on the NAIA scene with a dominant performance in northwestern Washington this past weekend, as he simultaneously broke a pair of program records while hitting the qualification marks necessary to book his ticket to NAIA Indoor National Championships in early March. In his first appearance as a Warrior, Reis took first place in the men's triple jump while placing third in the men's long jump field, both of which consisted of multiple NCAA DI student-athletes.

In the triple jump, Reis' 15.60m mark is the second best across the entire NAIA thus far, which would place 21st at the NCAA DI level and lead both the NCAA DI and DIII competitive ranks. It well exceeds the 14.82m minimum requirement for the national A-standard needed to qualify for the national championships, representing one of six athletes to earn an A-standard thus far across the country. His long jump mark was equally impressive, as he hit a 7.21m leap on his second attempt after passing on the previous two rounds, hitting the NAIA B-standard easily and just six centimeters off the A-standard. His triple jump mark bested the Corban indoor record by nearly four meters, while his long jump broke the record by over two meters.

Both the Corban men's and women's track & field programs are next scheduled to be in action this upcoming Sunday at the Portland Indoor One, hosted by NCAA DI University of Portland at the Chiles Center.
