CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the McDonald's CCC Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for the competitions held between December 29th to January 4th, where the No. 18-ranked Corban University Men's Wrestling team secured their second individual award winner of the season following a dominant tournament appearance for one of their senior leaders. Redshirt senior Antonio Garcia registered three pins on his way to a 285-weight class title at the 2026 Mat 'Cat Open to secure the first conference award of the new calendar year.

Garcia was named the first CCC Wrestler of the Week in 2026 thanks to an unscathed 4-0 record throughout Sunday's tourney appearance, where he pinned all three of his opponents before his championship bout challenger was forced to forfeit due to injury at 2:22 in the first period when Garcia led 3-0 on the scoreboard. This represents Garcia's first tourney title of the 2025-26 season and pushes his overall record to 10-1 with seven-straight head-to-head victories.
Of Garcia's ten victories thus far this season, half of them have come via pins of various lengths of time, with the first being the most notable represented by a 32-second fall over NCAA DII Simon Fraser University's Tyler Harris during the Navy and Gold's 44-8 thrashing of the Red Leafs. A pair of major decisions and a technical fall represent the remainder of Garcia's most remarkable victories in 2025-26 to date, with his lone loss coming against an NCAA DI grappler from Oregon State University by just a single point in a narrow 5-4 decision in early November.
Garcia will lead the Warriors into a massive weekend at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, which is scheduled to begin this upcoming Saturday with a 10am CT/8am PT dual against No. 2-ranked Life University (6-0) first up for Corban men's wrestling.
