Gladfelter, Morgan Capture Second CCC Athlete of the Week Honors in 2025-26 School Year

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the McDonald's CCC Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for the competitions held between February 9th and 15th, where the Corban University Track & Field programs split the four awards available on the men's and women's side of the podium behind solid showings in both eastern and western Washington. Junior long-distance runner Jack Gladfelter received his first CCC Player of the Week award in the 2026 calendar year after receiving one for Men's Cross Country in the fall of 2025, while redshirt senior Kayla Morgan receives her second-straight honor after earning last week's Field Athlete of the Week honor.

Gladfelter flew to yet another program record at the Husky Classic to simultaneously qualify for the NAIA Indoor National Championships with an A-standard and set the third-fastest time in the men's 5,000m to date across the country, as his 14:11.21 final time is the fastest time ran in Corban track & field history for either the indoor or outdoor 5k race. The prior fastest time ever ran was by Warrior legend Robert Swoboda, who was the men's 10,000m national champion in 2022 and eventual NAIA marathon champ the winter of 2023.

"This is a really big deal for Jack to break Rob's school record in the year that Rob won the 10,000m national championship," shared Warriors' associate head coach Stuart Eagon. "For him to break that record by 13 seconds is a very substantial accomplishment, as a 14:11 final time is one of the fastest times ever ran by an athlete in the history of the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Jack is putting himself in a position to be someone who potentially can chase after the all-time conference record, and the coolest part about this is to see how Jack has handled his success with glorifying God first and foremost in everything that he does. I'm very proud of Jack for his efforts this past weekend."

For a second-straight Monday, Morgan was named the CCC Field Athlete of the Week after besting her prior indoor record in the women's high jump, soaring to a 1.72m national A-standard mark at the Whitworth Invitational where she placed first among the 18-woman field. Still chasing her 1.78m all-time career best set during outdoor season last year, Morgan will have one last chance to set yet another new program record this upcoming weekend prior to the NAIA National Championships.

"It was really fun to see Kayla get a new indoor PR to win this award two weeks in a row," began Corban head coach Todd Bos. "Her confidence continues to grow, and Coach Kelly has done an excellent job in guiding Kayla. Finally, we are always thankful to God for these excellent performances and recognitions."

Gladfelter and Morgan will lead the Warriors into action on Saturday, February 21st at the George Fox Indoor Two, hosted by NCAA DIII George Fox University in Newberg as the last indoor meet on the regular season schedule for both programs in 2026.
