"I thought we had a decent showing today from multiple guys, just couldn't demonstrate it within the team standings," expressed Corban head coach Charlie Marshall. "We didn't take advantage of the gorgeous Pacific Northwest weather and missed a lot of birdie opportunities. Kudos to Owen, Brendan, Shane, and David for playing well today."
The tourney host Bearcats (286) are just a stroke ahead of both NCAA DIII Whitman College and Linfield University, while Pacific Lutheran University and fellow Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) member Bushnell University round out the top five teams. The Warriors top squad (302) is two strokes out of the top ten and five from the top eight, while their reserve team (306) can best the Boxers' varsity squad with a strong finish in tomorrow's final round.
The Warriors' top four golfers consisted of two reserve team bags and two from the top squad, with senior Shane Jacobus (72) finishing just one stroke over par at 19th overall thanks to two bogeys and a birdie on an otherwise even day across the course. Freshman Brendan Barbeau (73) is a stroke behind Jacobus in 26th, followed by the top four scorers from the varsity team in junior David Harvey (74), junior Owen Heath (75), senior Brayden Sparkman (76), and senior Andy Austen (77).
The final round of the 2026 Willamette Valley Cup begins tomorrow with tee times spread out across the morning, with both a team and individual champion being crowned by tourney's end.
