SALEM, Ore. – The Corban University men's and women's golf programs have announced the signing of five student-athletes who will join the Warriors heading into the 2026-27 academic year. The incoming class includes four men's golfers and one women's golfer, bringing a blend of state tournament experience, conference recognition, and competitive junior golf backgrounds to Corban's golf programs. The group is represented by Oregon, Washington, California, and Nevada natives and adds both talent and depth to the Warrior rosters as they prepare for upcoming future tournaments.

"Every August, I'm excited for our new recruits to arrive to campus and for our fall season to get underway," shared head coach Charlie Marshall. "With four quality and experienced young men joining our veteran squad, we should be a strong contender in conference play and be able to compete against nationally ranked teams. Each of them will be determined to push the others to be always on top of their game. Our women's team has gone through a major change with the departure of several players from last year, but this doesn't mean we won't be competitive. With three returners setting the pace, the addition of one new freshman will be mentored while helping everyone to focus hard on being the best they can be."

The class features accomplished high school golfers with experience at the state championship level, all-conference recognition, club competition success, and proven leadership within their respective programs. Their accomplishments both on the course and in the classroom reflect the values of Corban Athletics and provide a strong foundation for continued success in the years ahead. Below is a closer look at each of Corban's newest golfers:

Owen Deese | 6-0 | Freshman | Olalla, Wash. | South Kitsap HS

Deese joins the Warriors from South Kitsap High School, where he competed in golf and continued to develop his game throughout his high school career. He enters Corban after posting a scoring average of 84 during his senior season and brings a strong work ethic along with a desire to continue improving at the collegiate level.

Deese plans to study secondary education and hopes to become a teacher following his collegiate graduation ceremony.

Rane Divers | 6-0 | Freshman | Tacoma, Wash. | Life Christian Academy

Divers joins the Warriors following a standout prep career at Life Christian Academy. A four-year varsity golfer, he highlighted his senior campaign with an eighth-place finish at the WIAA 1A State Championship at three-over par. Divers also helped lead his school to a third-place team finish at the state championship while earning both First Team and Second Team All-League honors during his high school career. In addition, he competed with a PGA Junior League travel team, gaining valuable experience against top competition.

Divers plans to study accounting at Corban.

Colby Lerten | 6-2 | Freshman | Hermiston, Ore. | Hermiston HS

One of the most decorated golfers in the recruiting class, Lerten brings an impressive résumé from Hermiston High School. A four-year varsity golfer, he earned Mid-Columbia Conference Honorable Mention honors in 2024 and 2026 and was named to the MCC Second Team in 2025. Lerten qualified twice for the WIAA 3A State Championship and recorded two high school tournament victories during his career. His lowest competitive round of 71 (-1) and a 3.5 handicap illustrate his ability to compete at a high level.

Lerten will pursue a degree in business administration at Corban with specific concentration on accounting.

Amanda Ramirez | 5-0 | Freshman | La Habra, Calif. | La Habra HS

Ramirez comes to Corban from La Habra High School after competing at both La Serna and La Habra during her prep career. One of the highlights of her golf journey was recording a hole-in-one during CIF competition, a memorable accomplishment that showcases her skill and potential. Ramirez carries a handicap of 10 and has developed a strong passion for the game while representing her schools throughout Southern California.

She intends to major in biology and pursue a career as a veterinarian.

Casyn Simmons | 5-11 | Freshman | Las Vegas, Nev. | Delta Academy

Simmons arrives in Salem after spending three years competing in golf at Delta Academy. During his final two years of high school competition, he earned a spot in the starting lineup, demonstrating consistency and growth throughout his prep career. His experience competing in one of the country's most golf-rich regions has prepared him for the next step as a collegiate student-athlete.

Simmons plans to major in criminal justice wit  aspirations of working for the FBI.
