Warrior Men’s Golf Kicks Off 2026-27 Campaign in Bushnell Dual Opener

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Corban University Men's Golf team opened the 2026-27 season on Friday in their annual dual with Bushnell University, completing the first round at Pine Ridge Golf Club in third place with a team score of 14-over-par (374) for their A team, while their B team sits in fourth at 34-over-par. The Warriors trail both Bushnell (+7) and Bushnell's B team (+11) entering Saturday's final round.

"Our men jumped out to a hot start today, going -4 in their first two holes," began Warriors' head coach Charlie Marshall. "Tight pin placements were difficult to navigate resulting in just too many bogeys. We're looking to rebound tomorrow at Tokatee. Overall, great collegiate first career starts for Rane and Casyn."

Corban was paced by sophomore Isaac Laro, who fired an opening-round 74 (+2) to sit in a tie for second place individually after 18 holes. Senior David Harvey followed closely behind, carding a 75 (+3) and entering the final day tied for sixth. The Warriors also received counting scores from freshman Rane Divers, who sits tied for 12th at 76 (+4), freshman Casyn Simmons, tied for 16th at 77 (+5), and freshman Colby Lerten, tied for 18th at 79 (+7).

The top of the individual leaderboard remains tightly contested, with Peyton Wiedenmann of Bushnell holding the overnight lead at 1-under-par 71. Laro is one of four golfers tied for second at 2-over, leaving the Warrior standout firmly in contention heading into the closing round. Harvey's sixth-place standing also keeps him within striking distance as Corban looks to make up ground on the final day of competition.

Corban's "B" squad concluded the opening round in fourth place with a team score of 34-over-par 394. Owen Heath led the group with a 75 (+3), tying for sixth overall. Brendan Barbeau finished tied for 18th at 79 (+7), while Cavan Visser carded an 82 (+10), Brock Nelson posted an 86 (+14), and Owen Deese rounded out the scoring with an 88 (+16). Competing as an individual, Lucas Savage finished the day at 92 (+20).

The Warriors and Beacons will swap venues to conclude the Bushnell Fall Dual tomorrow at Tokatee Golf Club in McKenzie Bridge, Oregon.
