"Although we had a small group competing today, we still had some really nice marks today and gathered in a few more conference qualifiers," Warriors' head coach Todd Bos shared. "Good things are ahead for this group. We are looking forward to when everyone returns from spring break, and we get into a good routine to finish out the regular season. God has been faithful to us as He always is, and we are grateful for His care over the team."
Having already clinched conference qualifying marks in both the men's 100m and 200m, senior DJ Armstead sprinted to a first-place victory in the 100m today, followed by a second-place finish in the 200m where he logged a 22.19 time, which sets a new No. 4-overall mark in the Corban record book. Clinching conference qualifying marks today was junior Braydon Lee in the men's 800m race thanks to a meet-best 1:54.57 final time along with junior Karch Kipp's 13.26m distance that was good enough for third place today in the men's shot put.
Lee also finished first in the men's 1,500m race via a 4:00.60 finish, while Kipp's shot put mark was the seventh furthest launch in program history. Freshman Ethan Medyanik placed second in the men's long jump via his 6.57m season-best, while sophomore Josie Rothman represented the women's team with a runner-up finish in the 1,500m thanks to a 5:04.30 personal best.
The Warriors will return to action a week from today at the Jenn Boyman Memorial meet, which is hosted by NCAA DIII Linfield University at Maxwell Field and Memorial Stadium across the late morning and into the afternoon of April 4th.
