Reis Clinches First Indoor All-American Status via Top Eight Men’s Long Jump Placement

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A career-best 7.31m leap on his opening attempt eventually clinched All-American status for the Corban University Men's Track & Field's lone competitor today on day two of the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, as sophomore Oliver Reis became just the second men's student-athlete to secure All-American honors via an indoor event following his eighth place finish in the men's long jump earlier this afternoon.

"Oliver got our national meet off to a great start," explained Corban head coach Todd Bos. Ranked 20th entering this meet, he popped a big jump on his first attempt and it held up for an eighth place finish. We're very thankful to the Lord for Oliver's talent and ability to perform well in big settings. Also, extremely thankful for the Lord bringing Coach Holding to Corban. She is a huge blessing to our program. Tomorrow is a big day for our team with all four of our student-athletes competing in their best events. I'm confident they will all do their very best."

Entering as the No. 20-overall seed of the 32-man field, Reis quickly rose to the top of the leaderboard with an unprecedented 3 and 3/4ths inch improvement from his prior personal best mark, immediately setting himself up with an opportunity to earn All-American honors with plenty of room to work with as he entered the finals flight. Despite earning three more attempts, Reis settled with his opening jump as his best attempt of the day but was able to hang on for the All-American title after nobody else outside the top seven hit the 7.30m mark, allowing Reis to earn the final spot atop the podium.

Reis was the top finisher in the event from the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC), besting Bushnell University's All-American long jumper Kaleo Wellman by nearly six inches. He becomes the first jumper from across the conference to win an All-American honor thus far in northern Florida this championship season.

Alongside three of his teammates, Reis will have another opportunity at All-American status tomorrow in the men's triple jump, where he enters as the No. 3-overall seed in the event. Redshirt senior Kayla Morgan and junior Jack Gladfelter also enter the women's high jump and men's 5,000m race as the third overall seeds, respectively, while senior Zander Moha looks to accomplish what Reis did today and emerge from outside the top eight seeds into an All-American finish.
