Gladfelter Tops NAIA 10K Qualifiers, Keena and Salisbury Complete Day One of CCC Multi-Event Championships

AZUSA, Calif./ASHLAND, Ore. – A new event top time from across the country belongs to a Warrior following today's competitions, as junior Jack Gladfelter of the Corban University Men's Track & Field program topped the national qualifier list for the NAIA 10,000m runners this morning in southern California. Additionally, redshirt senior Anthony Salisbury and freshman Andrew Keena kicked off the 2026 Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Multi-Event Championships, which are being hosted by Southern Oregon University this week at Raider Stadium.

"Jack ran a good race today for the new NAIA #1 time in 2026 and just missed the school record set by our first national champion Robert Swoboda by about ten seconds," explained Corban associate head coach Stuart Eagon regarding Gladfelter's performance today. "His time is third best all-time in the CCC, meaning Corban now has two of the top three 10k times ever ran in conference history. I think Jack has a lot more in the tank still, and we look forward to seeing him contend for the 10k national title later this year."

At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Gladfelter placed sixth overall among a heavy NCAA DI field, besting Southern Oregon's Mason Weisgerber by six seconds to own the NAIA's new top mark of 29:43.18, which is the third best all-time 10k run in CCC history. His time tops the NAIA A-standard qualifiers and is over three seconds faster than the next fastest time submitted by Ryan Stade of Montreat College earlier this outdoor season.

"Anthony and Andrew both had fine day ones at today's decathlon conference championship" explained Warriors' head coach Todd Bos. "They are both on PR pace for the event and we'll see if their scores will be high enough to get a point or two for the overall conference championships. It has been quite a few years since Corban has been represented at the multi championships, but we hope to be here consistently in the future years. Anthony and Andrew are both laying a good foundation for our programs."

Eastern Oregon University's Nathan Wachs leads the decathlon field following day one action, with Keena and Salisbury in 11th and 13th, respectively, among the 16-man field. The best single event performances of the day for either Warrior came in the men's high jump and shot put, where Keena finished as the event runner-up at 1.85m in the vertical jump while he placed fifth in the shot behind a 10.65m toss. Salisbury best finish of the day came in the men's 400m race where he placed 10th via a 54.86 final time.

Keena and Salisbury wrap up the 2026 conference multi-event championships tomorrow on the campus of Southern Oregon, while the remainder of the Corban Track & Field squads will be arriving for the Raider Invitational, which begins shortly after the conclusion of the multis and will carry into Saturday morning/afternoon.
