FINAL RESULTS

SALEM, Ore.
– On the second and final day of the Willamette Invitational, junior David Anderson (Salem, Ore.) became the first male runner in program history to qualify for the NAIA National Championships when he posted an automatic qualifying time of 53.53 in the 400 meter hurdles Saturday on Charles Bowles Track at McCullough Stadium.

Anderson met the NAIA's provisional qualification mark last weekend at the Club Northwest Invite with a then-school-record time of 54.53. On Saturday, the third-year Warrior would eclipse the NAIA's automatic qualifying time by nearly 0.50 seconds as he lowered his school-record by exactly one second. Anderson would finish second in the 400 meter hurdles, while lowering his conference-leading mark in the event.

Corban would have nine other runners, including seven women and two men, compete in events on Saturday to go along with six other track & field team members taking part in the field events for the Warriors.

In the women's javelin, freshman Jenny Harman (Salem, Ore.) finished eighth overall with a personal-best throw of 36.15 meters (118-feet, 7-inches) before returning to the track in the women's discus and finished eighth with a throw of 31.08 meters (102-feet).

The women's shot put would include a pair of Warrior freshman – Christy Mosier (Bend, Ore.) and Jessica Rouse (Turner, Ore.) – as the first-year duo finished fourth and seventh respectively. Mosier ended in the Top 5 thanks to a throw of 11.64 meters (38-feet, 2.25-inches), while Rouse registered a throw of 10.36 meters (34-feet).

Both ladies would return to the pit in the women's discus, as Rouse finished fourth with a throw of 33.95 meters (111-feet, 5-inches) compared to Mosier's sixth place showing thanks to a throw of 32.94 meters (108-feet, 1-inch).

In the women's long jump, freshman Eliya Kohl (Salem, Ore.) finished in a tie for eighth with a leap of 4.73 meters (15-feet, 6.25-inches) before returning to the launch strip in the triple jump with another eighth place showing thanks to a jump of 10.36 meters (34-feet). Meanwhile, junior Bianca Davis (Ontario, Ore.) would compete in the long jump and finish 13th with a leap of 4.65 meters (15-feet, 3.25-inches).

Corban's individual running events would begin in the women's 100 meter hurdles, as Kohl, freshman Becca Stanton (Springfield, Ore.), and freshman Kate Tracy (Eagle, Idaho) turned in finishes of 22nd, 26th, and 30th respectively. Kohl would clock a time of 17.15, while Stanton (17.62) and Tracy (18.52) would each break the 19-second mark.

Stanton would return to the track in the women's 100 meter dash, as she turned in a 20th place finish individually thanks to a time of 13.44.

In the women's 800 meter run, sophomore Courtney Welling (Springfield, Ore.) would finish 14th overall thanks to a time of 2:25.48.

The only other men's event that Corban entered runners was the 800 meter run, as freshman Jacob Bowdoin (Grants Pass, Ore.) finished 17th with a time of 2:00.63 compared to fellow freshman Taylor Adrian's (Portland, Ore.) 29th place showing in a time of 2:03.59.

Sophomore Jocelynn Smith (Yakima, Wash.) would finish ninth in the women's 400 meter hurdles thanks to a time of 1:08.75 before Anderson would step on the track and make program history.

After competing in the long jump, Davis would step onto the track in the women's 200 meter dash and finished sixth with a time of 26.75 to wrap up the individual running events for the Warriors.

In the relay events, Corban began the day with a fourth place showing in the women's 4x100 meters thanks to a time of 50.29 before the 4x400 meter relay team finished third with a time of 4:08.07 in the weekend's next-to-last race.

Corban's men's and women's track & field teams will return to the oval on Friday, April 9th, at two different meets that includes the John Knight Twilight beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Monmouth and the Pacific Northwest Relays at 4:00 p.m. in Oregon City.
