FINAL RESULTS
GRESHAM, Ore. – On the final day of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships, one relay team ran an automatic qualifying time for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship and three individual met the provisional mark Saturday at Earl Klapstein Stadium on the campus of Mt. Hood Community College.
After meeting the NAIA's "B" qualification mark two weeks ago in Eugene, Corban's women's 4x400 meter relay team that includes junior
Bianca Davis (Ontario, Ore.), sophomore
Jocelynn Smith (Yakima, Wash.), freshman
Emilee Grubb (Bozeman, Mt.), and freshman
Jacquelyn Taylor (Mt. Vernon, Wash.) broke its own school-record and finished third thanks to an automatic qualifying time of 3:57.54. The Warriors became the first relay team in program history to qualify for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship.
Freshman
Christy Mosier (Bend, Ore.) also qualified for her first national championship thanks to a victory in the women's shot put with a NAIA "B" qualification and school-record throw of 12.71 meters (41-feet, 8.50-inches). Mosier became the program's first-ever field event winner, as she captured the individual title by just under five inches and earned all-conference recognition.
Joining Mosier in the field events at the NAIA National Championship is fellow freshman
Jenny Harman (Salem, Ore.), who finished fourth in the women's javelin with a NAIA "B" qualification and school-record throw of 39.10 meters (128-feet, 3-inches). Harman's record-breaking throw also earned her all-conference honors in the event.
Smith also met the NAIA's "B" qualification time in the women's 400 meter hurdles after posting a 1:04.79 to round out the Warriors' NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship qualifiers. The second-year Warrior nearly met the automatic qualifying time, as she missed by merely .29 seconds en route to finishing second in the event and earning all-conference honors.
Junior
David Anderson (Salem, Ore.) and freshman
Eliya Kohl (Salem, Ore.) also performed well on the final day of the conference championships, as Anderson posted a runner-up finish in the men's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.46 and Kohl finished second in the women's triple jump with a leap of 10.59 meters (34-feet, 9-inches).
