Warriors Blank Eagles, Senior Duo Nets Pair of Goals in Win

EVERETT, Wash. – Seniors Emily Boudreau and Tera McDonough both scored a pair of goals, as Corban's women's soccer team took advantage of three first half goals en route to earning a 5-0 non-conference win over the Eagles of Trinity Lutheran Monday at Lincoln Park.

With tonight's result, Corban improves to 3-4-1 on the season with Trinity Lutheran falling to 1-7-1 overall.

Boudreau would put the Warriors on the board in the game's opening minute when she teamed with sophomore Randi Donahue on her first goal of the season. Donahue would begin the scoring play with a pass from the right side of the field to the left where Boudreau was waiting and rifled a shot into the back of the net from 15 yards out at the 45-second mark.

Exactly twelve minutes later, sophomore Katelyn Weaver received a combo pass from Boudreau and fellow senior Audrey Sullivan en route to netting her second goal of the year. The senior duo would send a 1-2 pass onto the awaiting head of Weaver, who directed home Corban's second goal of the night from four yards away for a 2-0 lead at the 12:45 mark.

Less than six minutes later, Boudreau would net her second goal of the night when she took a pass from Sullivan at the 18:12 mark. Sullivan's centering pass would find Boudreau's foot, as she pocketed a left-footed shot into the back of the net from nine yards out for a three-goal Corban lead.

Despite being out-shot 12-to-5 in the first half, Corban capitalized on 60% of its shots on-target en route to earning a three-goal lead at halftime.

The second half would be a different story for the visiting Warriors, as Corban registered 14 shots versus Trinity Lutheran's six.

In the 55th minute, McDonough scored her third goal of the season off an assist from Donahue to extend the Warriors' lead to four goals (4-0). Donahue would begin the scoring play by sending a pass over Trinity Lutheran's defense onto an awaiting McDonough, who flicked a shot over TLC's goalkeeper at the 54:57 mark.

Less than seven minutes later, McDonough would net her second goal of the game on an assist from freshman Kaylyn Siobal for the final score of the night. Siobal would find McDonough in the center of the pitch where she ripped a 17-yard shot under the left arm of a diving Trinity Lutheran net-minder en route to scoring her fourth goal of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Alexis Beattie would register a game-high nine saves for the Warriors en route to earning her first shutout of the season, while Trinity Lutheran's Carly Moberg tallied five saves for the host Eagles despite allowing all five goals.

Overall, Corban would register one more shot (19-to-18) than Trinity Lutheran with both teams putting nine shots on-target.

Corban will return to the pitch on Saturday, September 21st, in a non-conference game against Northwest Christian beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Eugene.
