ASHLAND, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) announced the 2019 Softball All-Conference teams on Thursday evening, with five members of the Corban University softball team finding themselves among the list of honorees. Jessie Isham, Makiah Johnson, and Sam Woodley were all named to the All-CCC First Team, Rachel White was named a Second-Team All-Conference pitcher, and Mahina Chong collected Honorable Mention All-Conference accolades.

Isham is wrapping up one of the most impressive collegiate careers the Corban softball program has ever seen, finishing the 2019 regular season with the conference's top batting average (.471) and slugging percentage (.786). The hometown product blasted seven home runs during the campaign, and drove in a team-best 47 runs. Isham has now collected First-Team All-Conference honors in each of her three seasons with Corban.
Her platoon partner Woodley was also devastating on opposing pitchers, registering a .390 batting average in 2019. Despite being an elite run producer (35 RBIs) and power bat (four home runs) in the middle of the Warrior lineup, Woodley struck out just four times in 141 at-bats. It's her second time landing on the All-CCC team, and first time earning First-Team recognition.
Not only was Johnson named to the All-CCC First Team, but she also received Gold Glove plaudits for her defensive prowess. The junior from Newport, Ore. made an immediate impact in her inaugural season with the Navy and Gold, hitting at a .322 clip while making numerous highlight-reel plays while patrolling centerfield.
It's the first All-Conference nod of White's career, who rather sneakily established herself as one of the conference's top arms during her senior campaign. She finished the season with the third-lowest ERA in the CCC (2.27), going 9-3 in 15 starts and holding opposing batters to a .239 average.
Rounding out the Warriors' award-winners was Chong, who anchored Corban's middle infield. Last year's CCC Newcomer of the Year was yet again a playmaker on both sides of the ball in 2019, batting .274 while blasting a pair of homers and driving in 25 runs. In addition, Chong's defense at shortstop proved invaluable at numerous points in the regular-season regiment.
The CCC Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, kicks off tomorrow. The Warriors will battle Carroll in the tournament opener, with first pitch of the action set to take place at 9 a.m. down in Ashland, Ore. For an in-depth preview of the contest, CLICK HERE.
