SALEM, Ore. – Already boasting one of the most talented young cores in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC), the Corban University women's golf team has added three dynamic recruits to its 2020-21 roster. Head coach Charlie Marshall announced the trio of additions on Friday.
"It is with great excitement that I announce the addition of these new golfers to our women's golf team," said Marshall. "They will be joining a veteran squad and will do a great job in making our team very competitive."
Kristin Senatra – Clackamas HS – Happy Valley, Ore.
Hailing from nearby Happy Valley, Ore., Senatra excelled on the course while competing at Clackamas High School. After collecting Second-Team All-League accolades in her freshman campaign, she earned back-to-back First-Team All-League honors during her sophomore and junior seasons, all while leading her squad to school-record finishes in the Oregon State Tournament.
Senatra intends to study counseling psychology during her time at Corban.
Haley Elsasser – Woodburn HS – Woodburn, Ore.
Elsasser is no stranger to the Willamette Valley, having made a name for herself on the links for nearby Woodburn High School. The incoming freshman played a pivotal role in the school's unprecedented success, spearheading her squad towards its first state tournament in program history back in 2017. That kickstarted a run of three-straight state tournament berths, including a District Championship and a fourth-place state finish in 2019. For her exceptional individual efforts, she was named the Team MVP in 2018.
Elsasser plans to major in biology while attending the university.
Abby Ostrander – Portage Northern HS – Columbia Basin College – Richland, Wash.
Ostrander, a native of Richland, Wash., brings talent and experience to Corban's roster. After competing for a year at Columbia Basin College, she hopes to make an immediate impact on the Warrior top-five. Prior to her time there, she enjoyed a strong prep career, where she notched two top-five finishes individually and was twice named an All-Conference Honorable Mention. In addition, she played a key role in propelling the team to a State Tournament bid.
Ostrander's goal is to graduate with a degree in music education.
The newcomers will join Delainey Patterson, Kelly Dunn, and Haley May to comprise the Corban roster, which will look to elevate to new heights in 2020-21.
