Corban Women’s Golf Wraps Up Day One Action at Tournament of Knights

PORTLAND, Ore. – The final regular season tourney for the Corban University Women's Golf team in the 2025-26 competitive slate kicked off today in eastern Portland, where the Warriors are in sixth place as a team and have two individuals competing within the top 25 of the 45-woman Tournament of Knights, hosted by Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) member Warner Pacific University at Glendoveer Golf Course.

"I'm really proud of the ladies for how they played today," began Corban head coach Charlie Marshall. "They started out the day playing really well. Maddy was in the lead for a while, then was tied for it, then over the last five holes or so seemed to run out of steam but still had a great attitude. The whole team is excited about playing tomorrow on a course that played them tough, but they played tougher. This course is very long for the women and it really compounded the whole day, but they will be moving the tee boxes up tomorrow for the women which should lead to better results all around. Also, I'm really proud of Haley for competing in her first collegiate tournament at the conference level, as she was really excited and played really well for her first time."

The No. 4-ranked Thunderbirds of the University of British Columbia (309) lead the CCC field by 11 strokes over second place and No. 22-ranked Oregon Tech (320), who hold a nine-stroke lead over No. 19-ranked Lewis-Clark State College (329). Southern Oregon University (337) and The College of Idaho (345) round out the top five, followed by Bushnell University (347), Corban (358), and Walla Walla University (362).

Through one round, the Warriors are led by sophomore Madelyn Moore (84) who's in a tie for 16th overall after tallying six pars and a birdie today. Sophomore Ashlyn Thomas (85) is a stroke behind Moore in 22nd, while freshman Riley Sparkman (92) and sophomore Yaone Mokgatle (97) rounded out the top four team scorers for the Dubs in 33rd and 36th, respectively. Freshman Haley McDonald (101) represents the final team bag in 41st, while freshman Jaycie Moubray (100) is golfing as an individual this week and is in 39th thus far.

The Navy and Gold conclude their regular season tomorrow morning back at Glendoveer, where they look to close out the Tournament of Knights with positive momentum before the 2026 CCC Championships.
