"Corban softball has set high expectations and standards this season by hitting the ground running towards tough, non-conference opponents," Huber said when asked to describe her program's 2023 slate. "Each opportunity to be on the field will be an opportunity for the Corban Softball student-athletes to gain momentum."
In order to prepare for a conference schedule that saw four teams in the 2022 NAIA Opening Round and one CCC team in last season's NAIA Softball World Series, the Warriors open their season with a preseason poll receiving votes (RV) team right out of the gate, as they will host the Lions of Vanguard University in a neutral site contest hosted in Medford, Oregon at US Cellular Community Park on Sunday, February 5th for an early morning doubleheader.
Later that same opening week, Corban will travel to Foskett Regional Park for a round-robin style tournament, where the Navy and Gold will battle Menlo College and No. 21 William Jessup University on back-to-back days.
The Warriors will get their final non-conference tune-up on February 18th, as they will travel to NCAA DII Central Washington University for doubleheader with the Wildcats.
"The CCC is the most competitive conference in the NAIA. Being ranked in the Top 5 in the conference preseason poll says a lot about the conference and potential in there Corban Softball Warriors we have. I am confident that they will take each challenge head on and show grit through it all!" Huber explained about what the conference schedule this season will mean to the coaching staff and her team.
Both Corban Baseball and Corban Softball each drew extremely difficult conference opening weekend opponents, as the Softball Warriors will also face an NAIA Top 10 opponent to kick off their CCC schedule in No. 7 Oregon Tech. The lone CCC representative at the NAIA Softball World Series in 2022, the Owls will host Corban in a four-game series beginning the final weekend of February.
Warrior Nation will finally get their first taste of what the program has to offer this season live on their home diamond the first weekend of March, as the Warriors will host the Northwest University Eagles in their home opener on March 3rd and 4th.
The four-game series with the Eagles kicks off a 10-game homestand for the Warriors, as they will then host I-5 rivals Bushnell University in their first midweek contests of the season on March 7th, before welcoming the Knights of Warner Pacific University the following weekend for their conference matchups.
Corban will hit the road once again in the middle of March and change time zones as well, as they will face the preseason poll No. 13 College of Idaho Yotes at Symms Field in Caldwell, Idaho, their second NAIA Top 25 opponent on the road to this point of the conference slate.
The Warriors' second homestand of the season follows their trip to Idaho, as they will host Carroll College and preseason poll No. 10 Southern Oregon University to conclude March and kick off the final regular season month of April at Warrior Field.
Vancouver, British Columbia is the next destination for the Softball squad, heading north of the US border to face the University of British Columbia Thunderhawks, the final 2022 CCC Tournament team among Corban and the rest of the NAIA Top 25 teams in the conference.
The Navy and Gold then conclude their regular season series with Bushnell at Rich Schwab Field, playing both a conference and non-conference game with the Beacons on April 18th.
Preseason poll No. 19 Eastern Oregon University will be the final home conference opponent for the Warriors this season, as they will host the Mountaineers at Warrior Field on April 21st and 22nd for their Senior Weekend festivities.
The final weekend of CCC regular season contests will take Corban over to Montana, as the Navy and Gold will play an adjusted weekend schedule four-game series with the University of Providence on Thursday, April 27th and Friday, April 28th.
The CCC Championships will take place utilizing the usual three-day tournament style format once again this year, with the conference's top team hosting the top six squads that the CCC has to offer over May 5th, 6th, and 7th.
The 42nd Annual NAIA Softball World Series is set to take place in Columbus, Georgia at the South Commons Softball Complex for the final site this season, beginning on May 25th and concluding on the 31st with a National Champion being crowned.
