KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The first-year golfers for the Corban University Women's Golf team and head coach Charlie Marshall showed significant improvement throughout the final day of the Oregon Tech Fall Invite compared to the opening round on Monday, as the team finished sixth overall in the conference's first official tournament of the 2023-24 school year.

"So proud of our ladies today as they all improved their scores from yesterday," Coach Marshall stated earlier this afternoon. "Most importantly, we heard comments from other players and parents how nice and professional our ladies are. To God be the Glory!"

In unsurprising fashion, the preseason favorites and consensus NAIA No. 1-ranked Thunderbirds from the University of British Columbia ran away with both the team and individual titles, as the team shot a score of 578 for just over par (+2) on the week, while Una Chou took home the top score at 141 (-3) thanks to a 66 in today's final round. UBC took home the top four place finishes overall, with their alternate placing eighth below a pair of OIT student-athletes and the Warriors' senior leader Kristin Senatra.

After shooting a 79 in round one yesterday, Senatra shaved four strokes off her game for a 75 scorecard this afternoon, good enough to climb three spots and finish seventh overall. Meanwhile, freshman Olivia Wyatt competed in her first collegiate tournament and posted scores of 90 and 91 to tie for 26th overall.

Freshmen Sophia Barbosa and Amerika Jones each improved their individual performances by a combined thirty-eight strokes from yesterday to this morning, concluding the first tournament of their careers on a high note.

Corban Golf will now enter a brief one-week hiatus before their next tourney appearance, when they'll host the Warrior Fall Invitational at Pine Ridge Golf Club in Springfield, Oregon over the course of September 25th and 26th.
