CALDWELL, Idaho – The calm and cloudy conditions in southwestern Idaho turned to dark and rain today at the Timberstone Golf Course, as the precipitation turned an optimistic final round of the College of Idaho Fall Invite for the Corban University Men's Golf team into a difficult day of play, having to maneuver the tricky course conditions but managing to hold on to their seventh place team finish among the nine Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) teams in attendance.

"Our overall team scoring was similar to round one, but we faced much colder and raining conditions that affected our club selections and slower green speeds," analyzed Warriors' head coach Charlie Marshall. "Brayden and David were our low scores, but kudos to Brock and Isaac on having a pretty good days as well."
After jumping out to a sizeable lead, No. 11-ranked University of British Columbia (853) was able to shoot ten strokes worse today compared to round two yesterday and still win the team title by nearly 30 strokes over Oregon Tech (882), who outdueled No. 19-ranked Lewis-Clark State College (887) for the runner-up position by just five team strokes. The host Yotes (910) placed fourth within their home tourney, while the remaining of the team standings consisted of Bushnell University (915), Southern Oregon University (921), the Warriors (934), Walla Walla University (947), and Warner Pacific University (951).
UBC's Leighton Wright hung on to secure the medalist honor by five strokes over his teammate Forrest Van Alstine, while third place consisted of a three-way tie between a trio of Thunderbirds to provide British Columbia with the top five overall placements and seven of the top twelve.
Corban was led by senior Brayden Sparkman (224) and his three-way tie for 16th, while junior David Harvey (227) was right behind him in a tie for 23rd alongside C of I's Lucas Rynearson. Closing out the team scoring today was redshirt junior Brock Nelson (245) who was the third best Warrior finisher in round three with a round of 80 to tie for 52nd, while true freshman Brendan Barbeau (243) was a single stroke behind Nelson on the day and tied for 48th in the tournament. Senior Shane Jacobus (250) was the fifth bag today among the team scoring Navy and Gold clad golfers and finished the tourney in a tie for 56th, while freshman Isaac Laro (237) and junior Owen Heath (247) participated as individuals this week and finished in 40th and 54th, respectively.
The last fall tourney of the 2025-26 school year will take place three weeks from yesterday for the Corban men's golf team, as the Warriors will travel down to Buckeye, Arizona for the Firestorm Fall Classic, hosted by Arizona Christian University at the Verrado Golf Club.
