"After day one, our guys had a great start and are in great position going into day two," shared Warriors' head coach Charlie Marshall. "They feel that they played well as a group and know they are capable of making a run tomorrow to be in a better position for the day three final round. They continue to present themselves with a strong Christlike demeanor."

The tournament host Warriors of RV Lewis-Clark State College (288) jumped out to a day one advantage on their home course and lead No. 16-ranked University of British Columbia (293) by five strokes, followed by Oregon Tech (297), the Navy and Gold (300), and Bushnell University (301) who are all vying for a top five team finish. The College of Idaho (303), Warner Pacific University (305), Southern Oregon University (308), and Walla Walla University (311) are still all within striking distance of the top five with two rounds of golf still to be played out in western Idaho.

Junior David Harvey (73) finished the opening round as the top Warrior within the individual leaderboards at just a single stroke over par, as he'll enter day two within the top ten of the CCC with senior Brayden Sparkman (74) right behind him in 13th. The Dubs' team scorers were closed out today by senior Shane Jacobus (76) in 20th with junior Owen Heath (77) and freshman Isaac Laro (77) tied for 25th.

The Corban men's golfers will be back at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club for round two of the CCC Championships tomorrow morning, with a shotgun start scheduled for 8:30am.
