CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has announced the CCC Players of the Week for the competitions held between January 27th to February 2nd, where the Corban University Track & Field teams were represented by a pair of student-athletes who both hit qualifying marks for the NAIA National Indoor Championships, one of which hit the A-standard for the second time in as many opportunities.

"Kayla showed her consistency on Saturday by clearing the A standard of 1.68 m (5'6") even though she was the only competitor and the weather was cold," explained head coach Todd Bos regarding his first female award winner of 2025. "I really am pleased with her mindset this year. Again, many thanks to God for Kayla's athletic successes and for the indoor athlete of the week award."
For the second time in a two-week time period, redshirt junior Kayla Morgan cleared the NAIA A-standard for women's high jump of 1.68m and nearly set a new program and personal record of 1.73m with her third attempt but barely grazed the bar on her way down to settle for the NAIA's twelfth best jump of 2025. Morgan already holds the ninth best height of the season with a 1.71m leap she made two weeks ago in Seattle, Washington at the UW Preview meet. This will be Morgan's second indoor national championship meet after qualifying for the high jump in 2024.
"Braydon was really close to a national qualifier last week in Idaho and we hoped he could hit the standard in the 1000m on Saturday," detailed Coach Bos when asked to discuss his men's award winner. "Praise God he was able to. A special thanks to Jacob McKinnon for leading the first 400m of the race. That really helped Braydon out, and this indoor athlete of the week award is the icing on the cake."
After nearly hitting the B-standard for the men's 1000m race last weekend at the Lauren McClusky Memorial in Moscow, Idaho, sophomore Braydon Lee became the tenth runner within the entire country to qualify for the national championships for the event with a 2:28.37, squeezing under the qualifying mark of 2:28.50 by just over a tenth of a second. Lee most recently attended the national championship meet in 2024 when he became the program's first indoor All-American by finishing fifth in the men's 800m race.
The Warriors are back in action this upcoming weekend at a pair of indoor meets, first for the George Fox Indoor One on Saturday in Newberg hosted by NCAA DIII George Fox University, then the Portland Indoor One meet on Sunday in the Chiles Center on the campus of NCAA DI University of Portland.
