PORTLAND, Ore. – A crowded group of six programs atop the team leaderboards are separated by just twelve strokes following the opening round of the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Men's Golf Championships, where the Corban University Men's Golf program is in sixth place looking up at a certainly attainable first-place mark.

"Day one is in the books, and I think a lot of our men felt underwhelmed by how they played and definitely have room to improve," Corban assistant coach Evan Inglesby detailed earlier this afternoon. "But we are 100% still in the thick of the race. Being just twelve off the lead is a success in my eyes, something we probably would've taken to start the day. Andy led us in scoring with a 75 and we are ready to get after it again tomorrow!"
The CCC's top ranked program, the University of British Columbia (294), holds an incredibly narrow lead following day one on the team leaderboard, as they finished just two team strokes over par and one stroke ahead of Lewis-Clark State College (295). The College of Idaho (298) is three strokes off LC State in third, while conference rivals Southern Oregon University and Oregon Tech are in a deadlock tie for fourth at 302 overall. Raiders' Riley Kirk holds a one-stroke lead for the individual crown at -2, with the top finishers from LCSC, UBC, and OIT tied in second right behind him.
The Navy and Gold (306) represent that final team in the low 300s with a mere twelve strokes separating the Warriors from the top team finish across day one's round of play, led by junior Andy Austen (75) who was two strokes over par on the afternoon and in 14th place. Sophomore David Harvey (76), junior Brayden Sparkman (77), and senior Max McDonough (78) represented the next three bags for Corban in 18th, 22nd, and 23rd, respectively, to provide the Warriors with four top twenty-five finishes thus far. Sophomore Owen Heath concluded play today in 47th overall via a round of 84.
The Warriors will continue their push towards the top of the CCC leaderboards tomorrow morning as they'll begin at 8:30am with a shotgun start spread out across Glendoveer.
