Warriors in Middle of Crowded Standings Following Opening Round of Drenched Run-In at the Ranch

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Following the opening round of the 2025 Run-In at the Ranch, hosted by Oregon Tech at Running Y Ranch in southern Oregon, the Pacific Northwest skies officially opened for the fall season and chased the Corban University Men's Golf team and the other six participating programs off the course for the remainder of the day, resulting in a reduced tourney length from 54 holes to 36 that will wrap up tomorrow with a fresh round two start. The Warriors conclude day one directly in the middle of the nine total squads at the fifth-overall team position, with Southern Oregon University's top team just five strokes ahead and the Navy and Gold positioned nine outside of the top three.

"Our men stayed very focused as the weather took a turn and actually were playing better as the day progressed," detailed Warriors' head coach Charlie Marshall. "It's unfortunate that round two was cancelled as their game was improving, but we move on to tomorrow's final round."

Both Bushnell University (296) and Oregon Tech's A team (296) shot +8 as a squad to finish round one tied atop the team standings, followed by The College of Idaho (297), SOU's A team (301), and the Warriors (306) to round out the top five groups. Simpson University (315), OIT's B team (317), Southwestern Oregon Community College (322), and SOU's B team (244) make up the final four squads competing for the team title in Klamath Falls.

On an individual basis, Bushnell's Matt Forsyth tops the leaderboard following a 70 through the opening 18 holes, followed closely behind by C of I's Lucas Rynearson and Carson King who each shot 71s across today's competition. Corban junior David Harvey (75) was the top performer for the Navy and Gold throughout the morning and into the afternoon sitting just outside the top ten in eleventh overall, as he carded four birdies and eight pars to limit his mistakes despite the sloppy course conditions.

All four of the remaining Warriors were within a single stroke of each other yet represented ties from 17th to 24th on the individual leaderboard, with seniors Brayden Sparkman (76) and Andy Austen (77) holding firm in the top 20, while senior Shane Jacobus and freshman Isaac Laro each finished with a round of 78 to split between the fourth and fifth bags.

Tomorrow morning, the Warriors will attempt to beat the weather once again to finish the Run-In- at the Ranch tourney, with a shotgun start scheduled for 9am. More information will be made available on the tournament host site Clippd, which can be found by clicking HERE.
