No. 8 Embry-Riddle Claims CCC Dual Against Shorthanded No. 17 Corban Men’s Wrestling

SALEM, Ore. – In a forfeit-heavy dual between two Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) nationally ranked opponents, the visiting Eagles of No. 8-ranked Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University secured a 36-12 victory over No. 17-ranked Corban University in a matchup that featured only five weight classes competed due to injuries and qualification restrictions.

"I thought we competed well today given our limitations and formidable opponent in Embry-Riddle," explained Warriors' head coach Nolan Harris. "Injuries continue to rack up as our bodies are tested down the stretch of the season, and we are clearly hobbled and needing some time to recover before the national qualifier in the CCC Tournament. Definitely some areas we still need to fine tune, but we'll rest up this week as we prepare to honor our senior next weekend."

Injuries continue to riddle the Warrior (7-8) lineup as the regular season nears end for 2025-26, requiring Harris to forfeit four weight classes on their home mats, with Embry-Riddle (9-4) also forfeiting a matchup due to their own unforeseen injuries. With five decisions resulting solely based on teams unable to field a grappler, the Eagles picked up a 24-6 team score advantage solely in forfeit points to eventually secure a 36-12 road win despite the Dubs picking up a pair of weight class victories.

The Navy and Gold picked up two of the five weight classes behind narrow decisions against their ERAU counterparts, with senior Bo Davis battling to a 4-0 decision with near fall points, while redshirt sophomore Jesse Rubio split second and third round points to enter sudden victory overtime, where he flipped a near takedown by Eagles' Thomas Stadel into a takedown of his own for the 5-2 decision.
