BANDON, Ore. – Day two of the 2026 Bandon Crossings Collegiate Match Play wrapped up play earlier this afternoon, where the Corban University Men's Golf team dropped a 3-1 match play decision to Simpson University who held on to their No. 1 spot atop the team leaderboards as the final round draws near tomorrow morning.
"Our guys have put today's struggles behind them and focused on winning all four matches tomorrow," began Warriors' head coach Charlie Marshall. "Shoutout to Shane and Isaac for grabbing our lone win with a bridie putt on the very last hole to win 1 up."
In typical match play scoring, the first number indicates the number of holes the leading duo was ahead of their competition, with the second representing the number of holes remaining. The Red Hawks claimed today's head-to-head matchup with Corban by claiming three of the four pairings, with the Navy and Gold earning a 1 up decision in the second overall group consisting of senior Shane Jacobus and freshman Isaac Laro who remained undefeated on the weekend. Seniors David Harvey and Andy Austen dropped their matchup by a narrow 1 up decision as well, whereas senior Brayden Sparkman and junior Owen Heath, alongside true freshmen Bo Purnell and Brendan Barbeau each lost 4 & 3 results to their Simpson opponents.
The final day of the Bandon Crossings Collegiate Match Play kicks off tomorrow morning, where the Warriors' final day opponent has not yet been made available by the hosts. More information will be provided once available.
