Serrant Shines as Four Members of Corban Women’s Soccer Honored on All-CCC Teams

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the 2021 women's soccer All-Conference teams on Monday evening, naming four members of the Corban University women's soccer team to the list of honorees. Maria-Frances Serrant was recognized as the CCC WVT Laboratory Offensive Player of the Year, Juliana Pires earned First-Team All-CCC honors, Chanel Garcia landed on the All-CCC Second Team, and Klarissa Barajas received Honorable Mention recognition.

Serrant becomes the first CCC Offensive Player of the Year since 2013 (when Audrey Sullivan [now Audrey Kagey], wife of director of soccer Tim Kagey, won the award). She ranks second in the CCC in goals (13) and points (29); both of those numbers are higher than any member of the Warrior program has accrued since 2013. It's the second All-CCC honor of Serrant's career.

Meanwhile, Pires ranks third in the CCC in goals with nine and third in points with 24, while also ranking second in the conference in assists (6). It's the second-consecutive year in which Pires has earned First-Team All-CCC honors, as she puts the finishing touches on one of the most impressive two-year spans in the program's history.

Garcia lands on the All-CCC Second Team after receiving Honorable-Mention recognition in both 2019 and 2020. The veteran Warrior standout has added yet another impressive season to her pedigree, registering four goals and an assist entering postseason play.

It's a fitting way for Barajas to celebrate her senior season, landing Honorable-Mention All-Conference recognition after finding the back of the net a career-high seven times this fall to rank third on the Warriors in scoring. She has also registered an assist in 2021, serving as an integral piece of the Navy and Gold attack.

Sixth-seeded Corban will begin the CCC Tournament tomorrow evening at the Willamalane Complex in Springfield, Ore. The Warriors will play third-seeded College of Idaho at 8 p.m. in the conference quarterfinals, with an in-depth preview of the matchup set to be released on CorbanWarriors.com on Tuesday morning.
