Corban Women’s Soccer Leaders Alston, Hayes Selected to Honorable Mention All-Conference Accolades

CORVALLIS, Ore. – CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office has unveiled the 2025 Women's Soccer All-Conference teams and individual award winners, where the Corban University Women's Soccer team saw a pair of standout starters selected to one of the numerous honors bestowed by the CCC. Sophomore forward Maya Alston and junior goalkeeper Ava Hayes both earned Honorable Mention All-Conference team honors following their 2025 campaigns, with Alston continuing to lead the Warriors' offense while Hayes once again remained a key part of the defensive presence.

Alston followed up her CCC Newcomer of the Year accolade from her true freshman season in 2024 with Honorable Mention All-Conference honors following an eight-goal, solo assist performance this past fall slate, as she was responsible for over 60% of the team's total scoring plays across all 17 contests. She represents one of five Warriors to start in every match this season and finished with over 1,500 minutes played, joining senior defender Chloe Vanderhoof as the only two student-athletes with that much playing time accounted for. Alston tied for ninth in the entire CCC in goals scored, thirteenth in total points (17), and fifth in total shots (62).

"Maya was a huge part of our successes this season," shared Corban head coach Brooke Altender regarding her team's leading goal scorer in her debut season as a collegiate head coach. "She contributed over half of our goals and made an impact all over the field, not just up top. Her work rate, versatility, and humor made her a joy to coach in my first season, and a true role model for our team. This honor is a well-deserved recognition for all the hard work she commits to our program."

Hayes started in nine of 17 total contests for the Navy and Gold, registering 67 saves while allowing just over a goal per game for a 1.56 goals-against-average (GAA) and a .827 save percentage. Her success rate denying shots on goal from finding the intended mark was the third highest conversion rate in the CCC this season, while her GAA finished as the ninth best mark across the Pacific Northwest. Additionally, Hayes was the winning goalkeeper in four of the Warriors' five wins in 2025, while also picking up a pair of shutouts in their 1-0 victories over Simpson University and NCAA DIII Pacific Lutheran University.

"Ava had a fantastic season for us in goal," continued Alteneder, this time discussing her third-year goalkeeper. "Even though she only played in half of our games, she made nearly 70 saves and came up big time and time again when we needed her most. She's a hard worker who always gives her all, and her energy and attitude make her a joy to work with. Her honor today is a great reflection of the impact she has had on our team."

Both Alston and Hayes are set to return in 2026 and lead Alteneder's second-year roster, with a sizeable underclassmen group partnering with numerous seniors and the first full recruiting class under Alteneder's tenure.
