Marshall Pens Largest Recruiting Classes in Corban Men’s and Women’s Golf Coaching Tenure

SALEM, Ore. – A combined seven men and six women make up head coach Charlie Marshall's largest total recruiting class for the Corban University Men's and Women's Golf programs in his nine years leading the Warriors on the links first as an assistant and now head coach for the past five seasons, with thirteen additions making up his 2025-26 rosters of twelve and nine student-athletes, respectively. This year's classes consist of golfers originating from five different states across both the west coast and Midwest regions, with the men all pursuing bachelor's degrees in business administration of various emphases while the six women will all begin their collegiate careers studying majors unique to each student-athlete.

"We have a combination of both high level experience and growing potential across this recruiting class," expressed Marshall when asked to detail his young group of competitors. "They are all eager to improve themselves and willing to put in the time and effort to make it happen. There's a competitive spirit that makes everyone work harder to get better, and they will bring high levels of enthusiasm that will create a strong team bond for years to come."

To read up more on the thirteen Warriors joining the Corban golf programs, see below for a brief biography introducing the 2025-26 recruits.

He was a participant in the 2024 State Championships for the Crusaders and has finished a round with a low score of 71 in his career.

The Hoff School of Business adds another top notch accounting major in Barbeau this recruiting cycle.

Micah Curtis | 6-4 | Freshman | Dallas, Ore. | Dallas HS

Another local prodigy for Coach Marshall, Curtis makes the short trip from Dallas to southern Salem to compete for the Warriors as a true freshman after finishing as the team league champions with the Dragons by placing tenth overall as an individual at the 5A Special District 2 At-Large Regional Tournament and earning a qualifying spot in the 2025 OSAA State Championships.

The pursuit of a degree in business administration is how Curtis intends to begin his freshman academic year.

Caden Dornhecker | 6-4 | Freshman | Bend, Ore. | Bend Senior HS | Walla Walla CC

A junior academically, Dornhecker will be making his freshman collegiate golf debut as a Warrior after spending the past two academic years at Walla Walla Community College where he played in 20 career games for the men's basketball program. While he was a Second Team and Honorable Mention basketball player for Bend Senior High School, he also sports a low round of 75 on the greens and looks to bolster the depth of the men's golf program at Corban.

Dornhecker is in year three working towards a degree in sports management, with hopes of one day becoming a golf professional within the industry.

Shane Jacobus | 6-1 | Senior | Chino Hills, Calif. | Chino Hills HS | Cal State Dominguez Hills Univ.

The Chino Hills native is back for his second stint in the Navy and Gold polos after having competed the 2024-25 season for NCAA DII Cal State Dominguez Hills University.
